A strict meatless hygienic diet built around unprocessed whole grain, including Jackson's own invented cereal Granula, was part of the regimen at Our Home on the Hillside.
Jackson excluded meat, sugar, coffee, tea, alcohol, and tobacco from the regimen at Our Home on the Hillside and built the diet around fruits, vegetables, and unprocessed whole grain, including a baked and crushed graham-flour cereal he invented around 1863 and trademarked in 1876 as Granula (William G. Pomeroy Foundation historic marker; Dansville Public Library). The Our Home Granula Company manufactured and sold the cereal commercially into at least the 1920s. No source in this bundle documents any period or modern controlled study of Granula or Jackson’s broader dietary regimen as a treatment for disease; the claim is recorded here as untested rather than as an evidence-based dietary intervention, distinct from the disease-curing claims layered on top of it.
