Claim · 1917 · Brinkley goat-gland transplantation (goat-to-human gonad implant)
Goat-gland transplantation rejuvenates aging men, restoring youthful vitality and energy and reversing the effects of age.
The rejuvenation claim extended the operation’s market from impotence to the broader promise of reversing aging, the framing that places Brinkley within the interwar rejuvenation tradition alongside Voronoff and Steinach. It was supported by testimony rather than by any measured endpoint and is refuted on the same grounds as the potency claim: no graft integration, no endocrine contribution, and reported effects consistent with placebo.
