Classified unreplicated rather than refuted on the mechanism specifically: Bahman Anvari, professor of bioengineering at UC Riverside, told the Associated Press (31 January 2024) that biophotons — weak light naturally emitted by living tissue — are real, but that their role in health is not well understood and their use as a medical therapy is not proven.
