testimonialrefuted intervention Chiropractic (vertebral subluxation adjustment)

A present-day descendant of the Innate Intelligence doctrine, revived prominently by the International Chiropractors Association during the COVID-19 pandemic: that chiropractic adjustment strengthens immune function and reduces illness. More than 150 researchers from 11 countries reviewed and endorsed a 2020 statement rejecting the claim as pseudoscientific, stating there is no valid clinical scientific evidence that chiropractic care can impact the immune system, and identifying the promotional use of unconnected basic-science studies and anecdotal reports of reduced illness as recognized pseudoscience warning signs (Côté et al. 2020).
