SUMMARY
Consensus statement that more than 150 researchers from 11 countries (153 total: 8 co-authors and 145 signatories) reviewed and endorsed, published in Chiropractic & Manual Therapies (volume 28, article 21, 2020), fetched directly from PMC (PMCID PMC7197358) 31 August 2026 and confirmed via PubMed (PMID 32366319) and Crossref (DOI 10.1186/s12998-020-00312-x). Rejects, as pseudoscientific, an International Chiropractors Association claim (made during the COVID-19 pandemic) that chiropractic adjustments boost immune function; states there is no valid clinical scientific evidence that chiropractic care can impact the immune system, and characterizes the ICA's use of unconnected basic-science studies and anecdotal reports of reduced illness as a recognized pseudoscience warning sign. Used in this case as the present-day critique of the currently active chiropractic enterprise, required because the profession's linked intervention remains marketed today (current_status: both).
