The church's own current practitioners page states that Christian Science treatment "can resolve and heal any issue."
The church’s own current practitioners page states, at the passage this claim quotes: “It has shown them that Christian Science treatment can resolve and heal any issue.” The same page states practitioners are self-employed, don’t receive any form of payment from the church, charge what the church calls “a reasonable fee for their services,” and must complete Primary class instruction plus, in the church’s own words, “an evaluation process with The Mother Church, which includes verified healing references,” to advertise as Journal-listed (christianscience.com). That a fee-charging, church-evaluated practitioner network remains active today is documented separately by these same current materials and is not itself the disputed element here. The disputed element is the therapeutic assertion the claim quotes above: the American Academy of Pediatrics, in an October 2009 letter reported by The New York Times in March 2010, found a “complete lack of scientific evidence of the efficacy of prayer in treating any illness or disorder in children.” verification_status is recorded as unproven: the AAP’s dated, pediatric-scoped, third-party-reported critique is an evidence gap for that therapeutic assertion, not an independent scientific test refuting it — not proof of inefficacy for every condition or age this treatment addresses.
