SUMMARY
Tertiary biographical reference. Confirms: born 1821, died 3 December 1910 (infobox). She self-published Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures in 1875, founded the Church of Christ, Scientist in 1879, and founded the Massachusetts Metaphysical College in 1881. She appointed herself Professor of Metaphysics and Christian Science there and charged her students $300 each for tuition, 'a large sum for the time.' In 1870 she agreed to a partnership with student Richard Kennedy in which Kennedy would pay her $1,000 to teach him to heal, and he would take patients, with Eddy receiving half of his earnings -- an agreement, not a confirmed collected/realized amount. Used for these biographical/self-appointment/tuition/partnership-agreement facts and the birth/death dates; not used as a source for the mortal-mind/prayer-treatment mechanism, which is sourced directly to Eddy's own text (Gutenberg #3458 / the official Chapter XII page).
NOTES
Wikipedia’s Mary Baker Eddy article, used narrowly as a tertiary reference for the self-appointed-authority and tuition/partnership financial-conflict facts and Eddy’s death date. Wording is held to “self-appointed,” “charged tuition,” and “agreed to a partnership” framing; it does not assert Eddy personally pocketed an aggregate sum or collected a realized half of Kennedy’s earnings, and it does not assert she held no medical credential (unsupported, not claimed here).
