STATUS report on "krebiozen"
clinical paper · 1951
SUMMARY
The American Medical Association's first formal evaluation of Krebiozen, published six months after Ivy's 1951 press conference. The AMA evaluated the 22 cases Ivy had presented and found the data too incomplete and uncontrolled to support efficacy claims. The report also objected to the failure to disclose the drug's composition and to the decision to announce preliminary results at a press conference rather than through peer review. This was the first of multiple independent evaluations that consistently found no evidence of antitumor activity.
