SUMMARY
Wellcome Collection catalogue record, checked directly via the Wellcome Collection API: production event London (Temple of the Muses, Finsbury Square), Jones and Co., 1736; physical description one engraving, image 18.7 by 15.6 cm. The archive's own catalogue description explicitly names the three quacks depicted at the top of the mock heraldic shield as Mrs Mapp, Dr. Joshua Ward, and John Taylor, with twelve further unnamed doctors filling the lower shield; the print does not itself label which of the three top figures is Ward, so the case caption identifies Ward only as one of the group per the archive record, not by a specific pictured face. A later re-engraved state (this Jones and Co. edition) retitles the print as a facsimile consultation-of-physicians scene. Rights: Public Domain Mark, per the Wellcome digital-item license metadata (license id 'pdm'). Used as the source for the case's period-caricature media asset.
