SUMMARY
Title page of the 1620 Venice edition of Cornaro's Discorsi della vita sobria, printed by Marc'Antonio Brogiollo and dedicated to Marco Cornaro, Bishop of Padua, digitized by the Bibliotheque nationale de France (Gallica). The page carries the work's title, Cornaro's name, and the sober-life subtitle ('dimostra con quai mezzi possa l'huomo conservarsi sano infin all'ultima vecchiezza', that it demonstrates by what means a man may keep himself healthy to the last extremity of old age). Used as the case artifact: a near-contemporary printing of the book through which the doctrine was sold and reprinted across Europe (the case era runs to 1640 to mark that currency). Public domain.
