Rebelo, R. v [2021] EWCA Crim 306
primary document · 2021
SUMMARY
The Court of Appeal (Criminal Division) judgment of 8 March 2021 dismissing Bernard Rebelo's appeal against his retrial conviction for the gross negligence manslaughter of Eloise Parry. The judgment concludes that the court refused the renewed applications for leave to appeal and the associated application to adduce fresh evidence, and that 'this appeal must be dismissed'. Attached as the sole authority for the statement that the conviction was upheld on appeal. The appeal disposed of here was against CONVICTION; the sentence of 7 years' imprisonment imposed on 11 March 2020 is recorded in the separate sentencing remarks (judiciary-uk-rebelo-sentencing-2020), and nothing in this judgment is cited for the sentence.
