SUMMARY
Darwin Correspondence Project page fetched directly on 2026-08-02, hosting Charles Darwin's own handwritten memorial for his daughter Annie, written about a week after her death. Confirms Emma Darwin could not travel to Malvern (heavily pregnant with their fifth son) so Charles took Annie to consult Dr Gully there alone; records that Annie was born in Gower Street on 2 March 1841 and died at Malvern at midday on 23 April 1851. Records her nine-month decline before her final illness and Darwin's account of her last days.
