The Practice of Medicine on Thomsonian Principles (3rd ed., 1850), dedication page

The 1850 third edition's preface states that a biographical sketch of Samuel Thomson was introduced into the present edition to elucidate Thomson's theory and general principles. The dedication page, fetched and viewed directly, inscribes the work to Dr. Samuel Thomson as the Philosopher in Medicine and Founder of the Thomsonian System of Medical Practice. Used in this case as the source for the dedication-page media asset, documenting the reverence Thomsonian practitioners still expressed for Thomson seven years after his death, and as a period restatement of his title as founder of the Thomsonian system.
