SUMMARY
CAM-Cancer is a European academic evidence-synthesis network for complementary and alternative cancer treatments; page fetched directly. It cites a 1992 peer-reviewed JAMA critique concluding that the theory does not withstand scrutiny, describes the Lowell 1986 retrospective study as seriously methodologically flawed, reports that only 3 of 27 assessable cases in a 1989 review showed complete response, identifies no controlled trials, and notes that the American Cancer Society and National Cancer Institute do not recommend the therapy.
NOTES
An academic evidence-synthesis review of Gerson therapy, used for its direct quotation of the 1992 JAMA mechanism critique and its summary of the (absence of) clinical evidence base.
