Claim · 1928 · The Brandt Grape Cure
The Grape Cure also demonstrated effectiveness against arthritis, diabetes, gallstones, cataracts, ulcerated stomach, tuberculosis, and syphilis, and relieves complaints of the stomach, bowels, and liver through the 'strongly antiseptic' organic acids of the grape.
A single-food regimen claimed as a broad-spectrum cure across unrelated infectious, metabolic, and degenerative conditions, sourced to Brandt’s own book as reported by Quackwatch. No controlled evidence supports grapes or grape juice as a treatment for any of these conditions; Quackwatch notes the only nutrients present in significant amounts in grapes are carbohydrates, potassium, and vitamins A, B6, and C.
